2012 Junior PGA Championship Runner-Up Mariah Stackhouse Sets NCAA Scoring Record
The Stanford University freshman shot a 10-under 61 at Stanford Golf Course on Sunday during the final round of the Peg Barnard Invitational.

Mariah Stackhouse, who finished runner-up in the 2012 Junior PGA Championship, shot a 10-under 61 at Stanford Golf Course on Sunday during the final round of the Peg Barnard Invitational, which set an NCAA women's scoring record.

Her 10-under-par round broke the previous NCAA scoring record of 9 under, which was held by a group of four players that includes Katherine Hull, Liz Janangelo, and Grace and Emily Tubert.

The Georgia native's round, which was comprised of eight birdies and two eagles, included a front-nine 26, also a Stanford Golf Course record.

The Stanford freshman competed in a total of three Junior PGA Championships between 2007 and 2011.

In 2011, Stackhouse finished ten strokes back of two-time defending Junior PGA Champion Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand. Jutanugarn, who matched the 54-hole Championship scoring mark of 203, came within two strokes of Aree Song of Korea, who holds the all-time 72-hole scoring record at 271.
